I know that there is some very polarizing efforts on both sides of the fence to be for/against socialized health care and having a national plan to cover everyone in the country.
I won't even dive into the reasons to oppose social medicine (I have already done that in the past) nor will we allow emotion rule the roost here. This post is pure fact, driven 100% by numbers, and NOTHING ELSE. We can debate the woes at another date.
These numbers, by the way, were released by the GAO, which is a part of the Obama administration. Not by right whacko's or hateful white males.....This is Administration numbers released in a flurry to the public. I may not be a economist, but I am a thinking man, and here is what I came up with.
They say that 36 million (36,000,000) people will receive benefit from the new nationalized heath care plan, allowing them to receive some or all services they were not eligible for in the past. They also stated that his number includes 20 million (20,000,000) that currently have health insurance but would be eligible for the national version. That leaves this to cover 16 million (16,000,000) uninsured Americans, allowing them to smile again and stand up straight!
Now to the cost. The administration number, which are debatable, is 1.5 trillion dollars (1,500,000,000,000!) over the next 10 years. We will stick with this number, even though the heavily left controlled Senate today already bumped that up to 1.6 trillion dollars, but what is 100 billion amongst friends, right? So, the cost is roughly 150 billion dollars a year.
Take that 150,000,000,000 and divide it by the 16,000,000 benefactors and what do you get? Yeah...... That is $9375 dollars per person per year for national health care. Per person per year! A family of four costs.....duh....37,500 dollars! That is considerably more expensive than it would cost for John Q Public to purchase his very own private health care plan! Did I mention that this plan, for the national health care, also contains clauses that state that there will be additional limits to what care you can receive with this program? Yes. Rationing health care. Where the government tells you what is reasonable and prudent. We all know how that works out in government.
This my friends, is pure government waste and robbery. The numbers don't lie..... Who is going to pay for this? Can someone, ANYONE, please tell me where the money is going to come from to pay for this? Please, PLEASE, tell me! Enlighten me!
I am tired of watching our politicians dance around every singe question. Tell me. HOW ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR IT?
